Oseo-Anvar

Anvar is the French Agency for Innovation. Its Mission is to promote and finance innovation in French industry particularly for SMEs. Physica Pharma has received financial support from Anvar for two of its internal development programs.

Innovative products designed for rapid market access

Physica Pharma is developing a portfolio of relatively fast and low risk projects for a short term presentation to the market.

The core activity of Physica Pharma consists in designing and reformulating new products using existing drugs while development, registration and marketing activities are performed by partners through early stage licensing agreements.

The current portfolio includes products in the fields of inflammation, pain management, and anaesthesia. Administration routes include injection, oral, nasal and dermal routes.

Other potential applications serving therapeutic areas such as hormonal diseases are at a pre-development stage.

Orodis is a technology designed to improve patient convenience

This technology uses a proprietary Fast Disintegrating agent named Oromix and includes approved pharmaceutical ingredients.

Orodis permits a quick disintegration of the tablet in the mouth and offers better convenience to patients since tablets can be taken anytime and anywhere without water. Concerned therapeutic areas include emergency treatments such as Nausea (when water intake is difficult), Migraine, Pain, and Diarrhea (when immediate intake is needed)

Orodis also offers better convenience for patients having difficulty to swallow. Because of the immediate disintegration in mouth, the patient does not need to swallow the tablet which is particularly adapted for therapeutic areas such as CNS (Parkinson, Schizophrenia…), as well as for elderly patients or for pediatric medicines.

Soludis is a technology designed to improve drug solubility for injections

This technology is based on the combination, in particular ratios, of approved pharmaceutical ingredients which increase aqueous solubility of hydrophobic drugs by forming micelles.

Soludis has been designed to reduce surfactants and solvents levels while increasing water content. The technology has been successfully used to improve the safety of existing parenteral formulations by replacement of “unsafe” surfactants. Main applications target hospital drugs in various therapeutic areas such as Anesthesia, Oncology, Pain, Infectiology…

Soludis can also be applied to New Chemical Entities and thus permits to rescue dropped-off poorly soluble drugs.

Biodis is a technology designed to facilitate drug penetration through epithelial barriers

Biodis technology uses unique drug delivery carriers from natural origin.

Today, Biodis is used for two main administration routes :

Topical treatments using dermal route
In dermatology, Biodis is used to improve local efficacy of topical drugs. Designed to facilitate the penetration of drugs in the skin, this technology is indicated to improve topical treatments for dermatological diseases such as dermatitis, psoriasis, inflammation, infections or local anesthesia.

Nasal Route for systemic effect :
Biodis Technology facilitates drug absorption of small organic compounds through the nasal mucosa thus permitting a faster onset of action which is particularly useful in some therapeutic areas such as pain management, migraine, and emergency treatments.

Biodis is also adapted to nasal administration of large molecules (peptides, proteins) which normally couldn't be administered using the oral route because of their degradation in the GI tract. Indeed, the technology is designed to switch from painful injections to nasal route in order to offer more convenient treatments to patients. Hormonal therapies have been explored with this technology while another potential application is mucosal vaccines.
